About Us
A firm built around one area of law
Curry & Hickey Solicitors is a specialist firm working in healthcare law. We act for individuals, families, nursing homes and healthcare organisations, and regularly appear before the President of the High Court in wardship and capacity matters.
That narrow focus is deliberate. The law protecting vulnerable children and adults is procedurally dense and often moves quickly — we built the firm to know it well rather than to know a little about everything.
Both partners came to private practice from roles inside the system itself — the General Solicitor's office for Minors and Wards of Court, the HSE, and the Mental Health Commission. That background shapes how we work: we understand not just the legislation, but how decisions actually get made inside the HSE, the courts and mental health tribunals, and where delays or missteps tend to happen.
Most clients come to us at a difficult moment — a parent losing capacity, a family navigating a wardship application, a hospital or nursing home needing clear guidance on a resident's care. We aim to make the legal process as straightforward as it can be: explaining what's likely to happen, how long it will take, and what the realistic options are, before recommending a course of action.
We work closely with families, next-of-kin, healthcare professionals and public bodies throughout Dublin and Kildare, and appear in wardship, capacity and mental health matters nationally.
